Inspired by nature, Lumache derives its name from the Italian word lumaca, meaning snail, due to its resemblance to a snails shell. Lumache is closely associated with southern and central Italy, where it became popular for its versatility in holding thick, chunky sauces with its ridged exterior and spiral-like curves that ensure every bite is packed with flavor. Weve added Calabrian chili peppers that were grown and harvested in Calabria, Italy for a smoky, spicy depth of intensity that complements rather than overpowering other flavors in your dish.
Our spicy chili infused Lumache is made with organic semolina flour milled from durum wheat. A staple of traditional Italian pasta, semolina helps it also hold its shape well and gives each piece a wonderful al dente bite.
