Description
We get a lot of requests for run-of-the-mill “crushed red chili flakes,” but to be honest, we stopped using those along time ago in favor of the Cobanero Chili Flake from Burlap & Barrel. Use in any recipe that calls for cayenne or crushed red chili flakes for a fruitier, more robust flavor (with plenty of kick!)
From Burlap & Barrel:
“Our Cobanero Chili is a rare Maya variety of chili pepper with a fierce, smoky heat and a lush, fruity aroma. It’s perfect for anyone who appreciates true chili flavor. It’s grown in the mountains around the city of Cobn, Guatemala. The flavor isfruity like a peach, sweet, slightly smoky, and brightly spicy. They’re spicier than serrano peppers and in the same range as cayenne.”
