The most time-tested of Japanese coffee brewing methods, pourover (also called hand pour or hand drip coffee) allows complete control over quality and flavor. Practiced by coffee lovers worldwide for its distinct, flavorful results, this method of coffee making is accomplished by pouring a slow, steady stream of water over ground coffee. For a perfect brew, place the Coffee Filter Cone over a mug or carafe. Insert a paper or reusable coffee filter and measure in medium-ground coffee (approximately 2-rounded tablespoons per 8-ounces of water). Using just-boiled water, wet all of the grounds slightly and let them stand for 15 to 30 seconds to expand and release more flavor. Slowly pour the remaining hot water from the center of the grounds outward in a circular motion. Allow coffee to finish dripping. Total brew time should take about 2.5-minutes. Remove the coffee maker from the mug, discard the wet grounds, and enjoy the fresh-brewed coffee.
